Rick Wright's dead. No, really.

God. I don't even know what to say. First Syd, now Rick. RIP.

Rick wrote my favourite Pink Floyd song, Summer '68, a song that means a fair deal to me. The lyrical content isn't quite appropriate, but I can't stop playing it anyway. I should go to sleep, I need to be up around 9-9:30, but ... I just keep listening on repeat.

Would you like to say something before you leave?
Perhaps you'd care to state exactly how you feel
We say goodbye before we've said hello
I hardly even like you, I shouldn't care at all
We met just six hours ago, the music was too loud
From your bed I gained a day and lost a bloody year
And I would like to know
How do you feel? How do you feel?
How do you feel? How do you feel?

I find myself even faintly choking up at the intro. I didn't even know the guy, for goodness' sake! But his music has been such a part of my life and connected to some pretty strong memories. And now he's gone.

Goodbye, Rick.
