One of the greatest celebrations of the year is upon us - PI DAY!

If you are in the custom of writing your dates in the bizarre month/day format, then today, 3.14, is PI DAY! While I find the idea of writing the month first to be completely bizarre, I will take absolutely any opportunity to celebrate the greatness of Pi. And break my own records. My prior record was 330, though I had done (unverified) 350 in rehearsal before that public recitation. Well, here's my new record, all 16.6MB of video of it, 353:

Axver - 2005-03-14 - Pi Recitation (appropriately bootlegtastic in notation)

For those of you who really can't be bothered downloading and listening to me drone on a bunch of numbers or would like to verify it's correct, and would also like to see the method behind my madness, here's Pi to 353 decimal places, divided into the divisions in which I remember it. Although I can't explain how I create the divisions and while they may appear arbitrary, they make perfect sense in my mind. I can get confused when I see people write Pi and end at a point that isn't the end of one sector.

Doesn't look like a whole lot, really ... and for the record, at approximately 6pm this evening, I could only remember about 160-170 digits. And I didn't spend all the time between then and 8:30 (when I recorded that clip) learning Pi either. My goal now is to make 500. And then learn enough to blow all of you away when Pi Day rolls around again on 22/7. I'm such a generork.

Any challengers?
