I'm jittery and shaky and scared right now. My computer has frozen twice while I've been online today, and, a few minutes ago, I reconnected (third attempt, wow), but then couldn't sign into AIM or MSN or visit any websites and got an error message that I was behind a firewall that didn't allow me to directly connect to the Internet ... and so I'm confused and scared AND WHAT THE POPMART IS HAPPENING? Now I've managed to connect, signed in to AIM miraculously, just got an error when I tried MSN. I'll try it again once I've posted this. I hope this isn't a problem with my 'net, but if I'm not online, now you know why.
I'm scared. What's happening?
What I forgot to add before is that when I reconnected and stuff wouldn't work, I decided to disconnect and reconnect again. It took 7 attempts, and most stuff is working now ... I'm on AIM and I can visit here and I've gone to Microsoft.com, out of fear that maybe the blaster worm has mutated and now affects Windows 98. But I still cannot sign onto MSN.
I'm still jittery, shaky, and scared. What's happening? Where can I turn? I don't want my Internet to go down.
EDIT (2:12pm): to save making an additional entry, I am now trying to sign into Hotmail and can't. I type in my address and password, click sign in, and it takes me straight to an error screen. I then tried an alternate account, and then my Mum's account, and they don't work either. I'm now going to try another alternate, an account I have on Outlook.
EDIT (2:21pm): my alternate account indeed does work. If you want to e-mail me, please e-mail me on both my normal account, firstname.lastname@example.org, and also email@example.com. If I can't access my Hotmail, I at least can still access my Outlook account.
I managed to sign in to MSN Messenger and to my e-mails. I'm very happy about that. I think the reason I couldn't sign on is because, when I got that firewall complaint earlier today, I fiddled with my security settings and because they were less than they should be, I couldn't access them like before. Now that I've restored them, I can access them. What a relief.
Also, my Internet has been connecting in reasonable times today. Out the attempts, the first took ... 18, I think, then about 24, 3, 7, and 2 just then. The 2 came as a complete shock. I've just had a shower, and, figuring my Internet would take forever to connect, I started dialling up while I was getting dry. Then I suddenly heard it connecting, and now I'm sitting here in a towel with water dripping off me. Why is it that when I don't expect my Internet to connect, it does? Blasted thing.
I had something I was going to say, and now I've completely forgotten. Marvellous, just bloody marvellous.
