Technology is loathsome

I was in an absolutely fantastic mood. I got the news my line's approved for ADSL and ready for me whenever I had my ADSL modem set up. Of course, that's what's put me in an incredibly bad mood BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A FUCKING CLUE WHAT I'M DOING. The manual's terrible, there's all kinds of technobabble I do NOT understand, and all I want to do IS GET MY FUCKING ADSL WORKING. Instead, I'm just getting stressed and pissed off because I don't know what I'm doing. I'm going to go to bed early tonight so I can call support sometime tomorrow morning around 9am when they open and get their help, but I got a modem they don't sell. It's a popular one but I still don't know if they actually will be able to help me. I should be able to find someone who can, though. I just don't have a clue about what I'm doing and no-one's helping and it fucking pisses me off. It can all just piss off. Do as I tell you or don't bother existing.

Grr. I was so excited, finally I would have a really good Internet connection, couldn't be too hard to set up, and now, as usual, technology's slapped me in the face. I hate technology and I despise it with all my being. Why can't it just be EASY? Why can't it make sense and not be a pile of absolute babble?

In other news, Australia has to make 443 tomorrow to win the test. They're ten runs there for the loss of no wickets. 90 overs, 433 runs ... that's about 5 an over, and it won't be done. The highest anyone has scored in a second innings to win a test match is 418 by the West Indies, so statistical probability says Australia doesn't have a hope in Hell of beating India. But they do say records are made to be broken, and they could just do it. It's not going to happen in my opinion, but just maybe. Tomorrow will be one of the most exciting days of cricket. It's Steve Waugh's last day of cricket, so the Australian team - and hometown crowd - will be hyped up, the Indians will feel the pressure, and anything could happen. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm also looking forward to my frigging ADSL working. Bah.

Every few minutes I say "I'm not defeated!", open the manual, and try again.

I'm not getting anywhere.
