The list I forgot ...

I forgot to post the list of books we were given as reading recommendations for English. To recap, we are actually allowed to choose the book we want to read for English this term, something I never thought would happen. We have to choose a book that is in some way relevant to our assessment task, and we have been given a list of suggestions. Our task is to write a short story which "explores one or more of the discourses associated with growing up, coming of age, and rites of passage." We are to read an appropriate book - fiction or non-fiction - and it should deal with what our task is and be well written. We are advised that material essentially written for young children such as Harry Potter is to be avoided.

Anyhow, here's the list. I'm copying it exactly as written down - some books don't appear to be credited. Asterisks signify that whoever compiled the list highly recommends them. I would like to hear some other thoughts on this.
